Gerard Garcia
Gerard is a senior finance and business leader having led finance and IT teams in the UK and Trinidad and Tobago, and as Managing Director of a telecom engineering company in the UK, led its business transformation into a profitable enterprise. Gerard is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, holds an MBA from Manchester Business School with electives in Capital Markets and Bank Financial Management. He is a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors, a trained Mediator and a qualified Arbitrator from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
He has held leadership roles in both the private and public sectors in the Caribbean and the UK, including a statutory authority in Trinidad and Tobago, process manufacturing and telecommunications companies in the private sector in the UK, US and Italy. He led the financial and legal set up of a new start-up in the US for telecom engineering company, Sirti S.p.A. and was managing director of its UK subsidiary. Following a series of strategic divestments of the Sirti Group’s global assets, Gerard led a Management Buyout of the Group’s UK operations, in the process retaining all the UK clients, major FTSE telecom operators, transforming it into a leaner and more profitable business. He later led the finance and real estate functions as part of a multi-disciplinary programme team overseeing HSBC’s US$300m investment in the bank’s university sites across their global regions.
Gerard now concentrates on financial restructuring and M&A of private schools in the UK and clients of B&B (Transformation Solutions) Limited.
